In 2016, I was invited as the first 3-month resident artist at the Artspace ELEVEN (élèves), an artistic initiative in a rural location which provides a forum for contemporary art forms outside of urban cultural centres. During that time I developed various artistic software tools to visually interact with architecture and sculptures. Reacting to the presence of refugee families nearby the former school building in which the residency took place, I also developed an interactive installation based on google’s translate API.

Tool for creating animated light simulations with virtual objects.

Tool for creating animated vector paths. Projection on sculpture and architecture inside the former school building at the Artspace ELEVEN.

A flock of virtual birds flying autonomously over an eternal three-dimensional landscape. Words and sentences written by participants were translated by the google translate API in realtime and appeared within the installation as cloud formations.

Words and sentences posted by participants appear as cloud formations within the installation. The cast shadows of the cloud formations express google translations of the written text.
